We stayed at the Four Seasons RV Park, Salida, CO while
taking whitewater lessons in Buena Vista. Our site backed up to the river, so
we got a lot of great views of boaters, rafters, tubers and fisherman just by
stepping outside.

Note the person in the water. I don’t know where he was able
to get out – the water just got gnarly further downstream.
Our RV site had just enough sunshine to allow us to lay out
our gear to dry out. Wet suits, PFDs, booties, helmets, skirts, etc. Anyone
else have this kind of experience?
Back of the truck.
Unfortunately, it was pretty cold there and it rained a lot. This
is our expression when we looked at the weather forecast on our phone.
Yikes!
The rain, unfortunately, created a lot of run-off. This is
the view of the Salida whitewater park after the rain. You can see that the
water is brown. Not very inviting.

There was one problem with our site. The drain plug was
located way in the back so we had to purchase an extension hose. Then, when I
drained the tanks, I had to “walk” the hose back to get everything out of it.
Not a lot of fun.
The black hose is the extension.
A couple of other comments on the RV Park. The owners, with
reason perhaps, did not provide any way of getting change for the laundry or
any vending machines. I need two quarters to finish a load and had to go from
site to site until I found someone I could buy some quarters from.
It was also expensive. $68 per night if you wanted the river
view. I have to rethink that.
